Berlin, December 11th, 2010
We invited you to celebrate with us in our new studio and support the continued growth of our activities in 2011. Our initial goal was to raise rent money for 2011.
Peter Rose/Practical Works is committed to creating the conditions in which a human-being can truly act, with one’s whole self, fulfilling his individual creative potential. We develop the tools for creative and spiritual practice and this process is a life-long challenge to our humanity and capacity to grow.
Peter Rose Practical Works has offered its program without any external financial support, funded internally by a small group since 2006. Its ongoing Performer Training, performances and Awakening Practice workshops with musicians have become an integral part of our annual program.
The new studio requires some infrastructural improvements. With this in mind, please review our 2011 program and projected financial plan so that you can consider supporting our work with a contribution to the Practical Works Program for 2011.
The working methods at Peter Rose/Practical Works are grounded in the body/voice exercises of Grotowski’s Polish Laboratory Theatre where Rose worked from 1977- 1981 and the Para-Theatre/ Opus Work Process which eliminates the separation between actors and spectators creating a shared domain of Active Culture. Performer Training is ongoing, twice weekly, with three-hour work streams - body/voice/rhythm, texts and songs.
